How to download InDesign for Mac absolutely FREE?

A few months ago I wrote the article on how to download Lightroom for Windows for free, and later on I did the same with Premiere  Pro, After Effects, Audition, Capture One, Final Cut Pro X, etc…

The thing is that many of you have asked me to explain how to download InDesign on Mac for free (since not all of you use a PC, obviously), so that’s what I’m going to do in this article. Pay close attention.

What is Adobe InDesign free and what is it for?

InDesign is an Adobe program used for graphic design. That is, it is used to create and edit vector images (creation of logos, catalogs, typographies, etc). In fact, it is one of the most popular graphic design programs in the world.

With Adobe InDesign you will be able to do a lot of really useful things:

• You will be able to create your own logo.
• You will create designs for your web page.
• You will design the visual creatives for your Facebook and Instagram ads.
• You will be able to design flyers, business cards, etc…

Is there a free Adobe InDesign?

Obviously InDesign is a paid program, although it has a free one-week trial version, which I highly recommend you try.

I understand that it hurts your pocket to pay monthly for graphic design software if you don’t do it professionally (or even if you do). In fact, many of the professional designers I know use the pirated versions of the program (which I do not recommend at all). However, if you start using it you will improve your creative work enormously, so it is well worth paying for it.

How does the free 7-day version of InDesign work?

The one-week free period that Adobe gives you to download and start using InDesign works the way I’m going to explain below. In fact, it does it in the same way as for any of the software of the creative cloud of this company.

• You download InDesign and create an Adobe account to install it (or log in with the one you have already created, if you have one). And don’t worry, I’ll explain later how to download it in more depth.
• The program communicates via the Internet with Adobe every day so that, after the one-week free trial, you lose full access to the program.

Is there an unlimited free version of Adobe InDesign?

To have a free version for unlimited time you have to download it hacked/cracked, which is not legal and neither I recommend it nor I will explain how to do it in this or anywhere else in my blog, but I know that many people do it, both amateurs and professionals (which, as I said, I do not share at all).

This hack/crack works by preventing InDesign from communicating with Adobe (and vice versa), so it will never know if you are using a trial version or paying for the program. In other words, most users cut off communication between their computers and Adobe through the crack.

The thing is that I’m not going to show it to you here. However, I am going to explain everything Adobe offers (including the official discounts) and answer all your questions about it.

Remember that if you are going to use it professionally, you must pay for the program from the official website. In this way you help to improve and support it. In any case I do not recommend downloading an illegal pirated version of the software.

Why not use a free pirated version of Adobe InDesign?

This software (InDesign) as well as any other, requires a considerable economic investment to be developed, so by paying the license you help this program to continue developing and all the possible failures that it may have can be solved.

In addition, paying for the license gives you access to all future updates of the program, allowing you to access all the new tools and improvements that the program will have. This is really important.

The fact of paying the license fee allows you to have access to technical support, to solve problems and possible doubts that may arise over time.

On the other hand, just as you want to be paid for your work as a creative, the work of the developer who created the program also deserves to be paid.

Is InDesign 100% compatible with Windows (PC) and Mac?

This is a very typical doubt for all those who want to download this professional graphic design program. Indeed, InDesign is available for Mac (macOS) and PC (Windows), so do not worry because you will be able to enjoy it.

Both the trial and paid versions of InDesign are perfectly compatible with either of the two most widely used operating systems in the world, macOS and Windows.

What is included in the free trial version of InDesign?

Both in the trial version of InDesign and in any other Adobe program you will find exactly all the full functionality of the program. That is to say, you will be able to use it to create any type of design and layout, without any limitation.

It is normal for you to ask this question since other companies usually offer versions of their programs with quite limited functions for free trial versions. However, this is not the case with Adobe, meaning that you will be able to try any of their programs with all the features, tools, power and configurations available.

Is there a free trial version of Adobe InDesign for mobile?

This question is very common, since many of you start in the audiovisual and creative world without having a computer. That is, you do it using your cell phone directly (some of you simply prefer it because it is more convenient since you carry it in your pocket everywhere you go).

However, and much to my regret, I have to say that, unlike Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere Pro, Adobe does not have an InDesign for the cell phone.

In fact, and if you stop to think about it, it doesn’t make much sense to layout text on a screen as small as a cell phone.

How to download InDesign for Mac for free?

You can download Adobe InDesign in many different ways, so I will explain some of them below (the most typical ones):

• From the official Adobe website. This is the most common and what I recommend.
  1. From Adobe Home, click on the text «creativity and design» (in the main menu).
  2. Select the option to view all programs (or click directly on InDesign, if it appears).
  3. Click on Adobe InDesign (it is in reddish/pink color and the letters are Id).
  4. In the top bar you will see another menu (below the main menu) with a button that says «free trial version». Obviously you click there and follow the instructions to download it and create your account.
• Through direct downloads on other websites with the program ready to install and use (in these cases are usually with the internal crack that allows you to have the free version totally unlimited in time). I repeat, this option is illegal and I do not recommend it, nor will I give you information about how to download this program in this way.
• Through torrents and magnet links (this is the way I liked the most before, as I love torrent managers.

IMPORTANT: both direct downloads and torrent managers, although they are usually used to download the program with the crack installed (the illegal way), can be used to download a specific version older than the current one (in case the current version does not work with your computer’s operating system). That is, you could download the program with this method, then log in with your Adobe account legally and not want to update it. to ensure compatibility.

If you are going to do it through torrents and/or magnet links, the first thing you have to do is to download a torrent manager, Transmission is the most famous on the macOS operating system.

Quiet because with Transmission you’ll be able to download, Besides, many other types of files. It is a good application to have installed on your Mac.

A file with .dmg or .pkg extension will be downloaded to your Mac. Open it, install it and you’re done.

Once Transmission is downloaded and installed (it can be any other, but this one works perfectly and is my favorite, without a doubt), we download InDesign.

IMPORTANT: Later in this article I will explain how to download it through torrents, but in the meantime I will solve the most typical doubts you may have.

What to do when the InDesign free trial week is over?

Obviously, when the seven-day trial period of this fantastic document creation and layout program (text, books, images, PDF, etc.) is over, I recommend that you sign up for a month or two of Adobe InDesign subscription to test the program and, if at the end of the period you don’t like the software enough, cancel the subscription and you will no longer have access to it.

Since it is a recurring payment that you can cancel whenever you want, you can try paying for a month and see if you like it. If you don’t like it as much as you expected, you stop paying and lose access to the program.

It is a way of extending the program trial, but instead of doing it for free, you do it by paying for that extra month. However, I recommend you to make the most of each day of the month, to decide for sure if you want to continue paying for it or unsubscribe the following month.

The price is really not too high, especially if we take into account that it will be your work tool as a graphic designer or as a complementary tool to another professional task that you perform (as happens in the case of many photographers). Thanks to learning to use this program (and a lot of effort, of course) you will end up dedicating yourself professionally to the digital creative sector, so it is worth paying for it. And even if you want to use it only as an amateur or to create your own designs for your business, it would also be worth it.

What is the price of InDesign?

The paid version of InDesign, which you have to pay for once the free trial week is over (logically), costs about 24 euros per month approximately (the price changes over time, so take a look at Adobe’s official website to make sure).

I have to say that the price of this program is a bit high, like most of Adobe when buying the license individually (more about the offers later), especially if we compare it with the adobe photo subscription, which is about 12 euros per month and includes Lightroom + Photoshop + cloud space.

The main reason why InDesign has a higher price is precisely because it is designed for the professional graphic designer and it is assumed that he/she will get an economic return for its use.

Are there any discounts for purchasing Adobe InDesign?

Of course there are discounts for purchasing any Adobe license from their website, including InDesign of course, so let’s take a look at some of them.

Discount with a subscription to the entire Adobe creative cloud

The subscription to ALL Adobe creative cloud programs for 48€/month includes unlimited access to all creative and audiovisual programs that are included in this suite (more than 14 programs, in fact), so if you are going to use more than 2-3 softwares it is very likely that it will be profitable to purchase this subscription and have access, in addition, to the rest of the programs.

Yes, it is quite a lot of money, but if you are a professional video editor and/or photographer, for example, you will be able to use Photoshop + Lightroom + Premiere Pro + After Effects + the rest of Adobe’s programs. That is, if you are going to use several of these programs, it is worth looking at the option of acquiring them all together.

Adobe student discounts

If you’re a student, Adobe offers pretty big discounts for all their programs, so I recommend you check them out.

Download InDesign for Mac free from torrent sites

IMPORTANT: As I have told you before, I really only recommend the use of torrent sites for those people who want to download an older version of the program because their operating system does not accept the latest version.

Well, here are some options for you to download this program totally free through any torrent manager.

• On the piratebay (or similar) page. Remember that these pages have mostly pirated software downloads, so it is your legal obligation to enter your Adobe credentials when you install it so that the company knows that you are using your payment account legally.
• Google «InDesign torrents» and select any of the available options and follow the instructions.

Other ways to download InDesign for Mac

Of course there are other ways to do it, so I’m going to explain how to search for it.

• Search google for «Download InDesign Mac» or similar searches and you will get results of websites that explain how to do it. Beware that many downloads are illegal. Avoid them or use your credentials to log in when downloading the program.
• Search YouTube for «how to download InDesign Mac» or similar searches and you will find video tutorials with download links in the video descriptions. Many of these videos teach you how to hack it illegally, which I strongly advise against.
