How to download Lightroom for Windows absolutely FREE?

A few weeks ago I wrote the article on how to download Lightroom for Mac for free, and later I did the same with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Capture One, Final Cut Pro X, etc….

The thing is that many of you have asked me to explain how to download Lightroom on Windows or PC (since not all of you use Mac), so that’s what I’m going to do in this article.

Is there a free Lightroom?

Lightroom is an Adobe program used to edit photographs, specifically to develop images in RAW format (although images in other formats, such as TIFF or JPEG, can also be edited). It is actually a RAW file developer that can develop large numbers of photos at once, so it is widely used by professional event photographers. In fact, I’d say it’s Adobe’s most downloaded, most used and best known program, next to Photoshop, obviously. I would even go so far as to say that, next to Photoshop, it is the best known and most used photo editor in the world.

Obviously Lightroom is a paid program, although it has a free one-week trial version (which I highly recommend that you give it a serious try). 

I understand that you don’t want to pay for a professional photo development program if you are not a photographer. In fact, many of the photographers I know have the free pirated versions (which I don’t recommend at all), and that’s because they are professionals and they make money out of it. However, if you start using it you will realize that the look of your photos will be totally improved thanks to the use of this software, so it is well worth paying for it. Plus, you will learn even more than you already know about photography.

How does the free version of Lightroom work?

The one-week trial period Adobe gives you to try this software works as follows (the same for any of its programs, in fact).

• You download the program and you have to create an Adobe account to install it (or use one you already have).
• The program communicates with Adobe online every day so that, after one week, you will lose full access to the program (as your 7-day trial will have expired).

To have a free version for unlimited time you have to download it hacked/cracked, which is not legal and I do not recommend it and I am not going to explain how to do it in any article on my website, but I know that many photographers (including professionals) do it, which I obviously do not share.

This hack/crack works by preventing Lightroom from communicating online with Adobe, so the software will never know if you are using a trial version, you have paid for it, etc…. In other words, what people usually do is cut off communication between your computer (Lightroom, specifically) and Adobe. Anyway, I’m not going to teach you how to do it, but I’m going to explain everything Adobe offers you (including discounts) and solve all your doubts about it.

Remember that if you are going to use it professionally, you must pay for the program from the official website. In this way you help to improve and support it. In any case I do not recommend downloading an illegal pirated version of the software.

Is the free version of Lightroom fully compatible on Windows or PC and Mac?

This is a very typical doubt for all those who want to download this photo editing program. Indeed, Lightroom is available for Mac (macOS) and PC (Windows), so it doesn’t matter which operating system you are going to use, since you will be able to download, install and use it perfectly on any of them.

It is important to understand that, obviously, both the trial version and the official paid version of Lightroom are perfectly compatible with either of the two most widely used operating systems in the world, macOS and Windows.

What’s included in the free one-week trial of Adobe Lightroom?

Actually, in the trial version, you will have full access to the entire program, as well as to absolutely all its functionalities, configurations, etc…

That is to say, it is not the typical trial version in which the program is capped and you only have access to this partially, but you can enjoy it 100%, with each and every one of its options, functions, tools and configurations.

Is there a mobile version of Adobe Lightroom?

This question is very common, since many people start to get interested in the audiovisual world without having a camera. That is, they start in this sector using their cell phone. And that is precisely the reason why Adobe has created a simplified version of Lightroom called Lightroom mobile, and this is exclusive to cell phones and, by the way, free from both the app store (iOS) and the play store (Android).

How to download Lightroom for Windows or PC for free?

You can download Adobe Lightroom in different ways, such as:

• From Adobe’s own website. This is the most common thing to do.
  1. From Adobe home (the main page), click on creativity and design (from the main menu).
  2. Choose the option: «view all available programs».
  3. You go into Lightroom (it is in blue and the letters are Lr).
  4. In the top bar you will see a secondary menu (below the main menu) with a button that says «free trial version». Simply click on it and follow the steps.
• Through direct downloads on other websites with the program ready to install and use (in most cases with the internal crack that allows you to have the free version totally unlimited in time). I repeat, I do not recommend this option and I am not going to give you more information about how to download this program this way.
• Through torrents and magnet links (this is the easiest and most efficient way, besides Adobe’s own website, of course).

IMPORTANT: both direct downloads and torrent managers, although they are usually used to download the program with the crack installed (the illegal way), can be used to download a specific version older than the current one (in case the current version does not work with your computer’s operating system). That is, you could download the program with this method, then log in with your Adobe account legally and not want to update it. to ensure compatibility.

If you are going to do it in one of the last ways, first you have to download a torrent manager, utorrent is the most famous one for Windows.

Relax because with this torrent manager you will also be able to download other types of files (movies, music, other programs, etc). So it is a good application to have installed on your computer.

A file with .exe extension will be downloaded to your PC. Open it, install it and you are done.

Once the torrent manager is downloaded and installed (it can be any other, but utorrent is the best known for Windows and works very well), we download Lightroom.

IMPORTANT: Later in this article I will explain how to download it through torrents, but in the meantime I will solve the most typical doubts you may have.

What happens when the trial version of Adobe Lightroom runs out?

Obviously when the seven free days of this fantastic professional image editing program are up, I recommend that you pay for a month or two of your Adobe Lightroom subscription and, if at the end of the period, you didn’t like the experience, cancel the subscription.

That is, as it is a recurring payment that you can cancel whenever you want (from your account on Abode’s website), you can try to pay for a month and see how it goes. If you don’t like it enough, you stop paying and lose access to the program completely.

It is like giving you a trial period of one month, but paying, to check if you feel comfortable using the program and if it is useful to you. If you like it and you see that you get all the juice you wanted or that you enjoy it a lot, then you keep paying for it.

The price is really not too high, taking into account that it will be your working tool and that thanks to this professional program you will be able to dedicate yourself to photography (if you wish and with a lot of effort, of course), so it is worth paying for it, both to dedicate yourself professionally to it, and simply to learn as an advanced amateur in video editing.

How much does Adobe Lightroom officially cost?

The paid version of Lightroom, which I recommend paying for once the free week is over, costs about 12 euros per month approximately (currently, although the price may change later).

I have to say that the price of this program, although not expensive in itself, is expensive compared to the Adobe photo subscription, which is about 12 euros per month and includes Lightroom + Photoshop + cloud space.

Are there any discounts for purchasing Lightroom?

Indeed, there are some discounts for purchasing any Adobe program from their website, including Lightroom, of course. So let’s take a look at them.

The first thing I recommend is that you take a look at all their software and think about how many you will have to use professionally, because if there are more than one, you could purchase a subscription to ALL the programs in the creative cloud for 48€ (monthly).

Yes, it is quite a lot of money, but if you are a professional video and/or photo editor, for example, you will be able to use Photoshop + Lightroom + Premiere Pro + After Effects + the rest of the Adobe suite programs. That is, if you are going to use many of these programs, it is worth looking at the option of acquiring them all together.

Download Lightroom for Windows for free from torrent websites

IMPORTANT: As I have told you before, I really only recommend the use of torrent sites for those people who want to download an older version of the program because their operating system does not accept the latest version.

Well, here are some options for you to know how to download this photo development program totally free through torrent managers.

• You have the piratebay page or similar. Although many of these are closed because most of the downloads they offer are illegal.
• Search Google Lightroom torrent or similar and select any of the options available (more on this later).

Of course there are other ways to do it, so I’m going to explain how to find it.

• Search google for «Download Lightroom windows/PC» or similar things and you will get pages explaining how to do it.
• Search YouTube for «how to download Lightroom windows or PC» or similar things and you will find video tutorials with download links in the descriptions. Many of these videos teach you how to do it illegally, which I strongly advise against.
